HCE participated in CES 2022

HCE showed the outlook of smart construction in CES 2022

‘CES(Consumer Electronics Show) 2022’ was held from January 5 to 7 in Las Vegas, the United States. CES is the world’s top exhibition along with ‘IFA’ (in Berlin, Germany) and ‘MWC’ (in Barcelona, Spain). HCE participated in CES 2022 for the first time and showed its technology.

The exhibition consists of 3 sections; <Avikus’ autonomous driving>, <Robotics in Industry and Daily Life>, and <Marine Hydrogen Value Chain>.

HCE introduced Avikus’ autonomous driving system. Established by HHI Group last December, ‘Avikus’ specializes in autonomous operation and navigation systems. A model of a fully autonomous leisure boat (about 6m in size) was installed and the visitors could simulate operations with VR technology.

HCE also showed the Robotics project ‘Concept-X’ and smart construction platform ‘XiteCloud’ with Hyundai Doosan Infracore. ‘Concept-X’ is a collection of advanced technologies (unmanned autonomous vehicles, construction site measurement using drones, and a 5G-based remote control system). And HCE made an interactive game to build a marine city so that visitors could experience future construction sites with HCE’s high-tech technologies; XiteCloud(a cloud-based all-in-one construction platform), hydrogen forklift, welding robot, and hydrogen energy carriers.

Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, Hyundai Heavy Industries, Hyundai Oilbank, and Hyundai Electric have business structures and technology for maritime hydrogen value chains. They produce green hydrogen from the ocean, transport and store it for fuel of vehicles, and convert the green hydrogen to electricity. HCE showed a giant offshore wind power generator (3.6m high) and a hydrogen ship model with a video describing the entire process of maritime hydrogen value chains (green hydrogen production platform, liquified hydrogen terminal, hydrogen station, etc.)

Participating in CES 2022 was successful and meaningful. HCE could present a vision for smart construction. We plan to focus on developing more products and technology so that we can realize a smart construction site – fully unmanned and robotized as soon as possible.
